Conserved Land

Friends of TNC often inquire about accessing maps that display the habitat types in the Sakonnet region. In 2015, a Bioblitz was conducted in Little Compton allowing the creation of this map. The Bioblitz provided information about the species (plants, fish, birds, etc.) that could be found in the area, provided by volunteers over a 24-hour period.

We prioritize protecting connected tracts of forest, freshwater wetlands, coastal estuaries, beaches, and areas of prime farmland.  Collaboration ensures populations, especially those most vulnerable to climate impacts, will thrive into the future. Thank you for helping us protect these natural landscapes. We cannot do it without you!
